Intense cold, dense fog cause traffic disruptions in Odisha's Bonai

Severe cold conditions continue to grip Bonai in Odisha, with dense fog disrupting normal life and affecting road visibility.

The Bonai region is also reeling under intense winter conditions, accompanied by persistent fog that has been causing inconvenience to commuters and pedestrians alike.

According to locals, fog has been lingering for longer durations, significantly reducing visibility, especially during early morning hours. 

“Fog stays for a long period of time. We are forced to keep our vehicle headlights on most of the time while travelling,” said a local resident.

People who go for daily morning walks have also expressed concern over safety due to poor visibility.

“Winter and fog have increased and it has been impacting us a lot. For the past five to seven days, visibility has been very low due to dense fog,” said another resident. 

“We walk on the roads with extreme alertness because we are unable to see approaching vehicles, and even vehicles cannot see us clearly. Despite the risk, we continue our morning walks,” the resident added.

The dense fog has also been causing problems for vehicular movement, particularly during dawn hours. Authorities have advised commuters to drive cautiously and use headlights and fog lights to avoid accidents as cold and foggy conditions are expected to persist in the region.
