Angul: Vigilance sleuths on Monday arrested Mahosmita Panda, Inspector In-charge (IIC) of NTPC police station at Kaniha of Angul district on charges of demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 10,000.

Acting on a complaint filed by one Suvendu Kumar Dash of Telisingha under Kaniha police limits, the officials laid a trap and caught Panda red-handed while accepting the bribe money from Suvendu to bail out his aunt and cousin, arrested in a case.

The Cuttack Vigilance officials also conducted raids at Panda’s government quarter at NTPC Police Station Campus and two houses at Railway Colony and Atharabanki in Paradip. She will be forwarded to court today, informed sources.
