Humane Sagar’s death: Will fight for justice and have written to Odisha CM for probe, says actor Anubhav Mohanty

The mystery surrounding the death of acclaimed Ollywood singer Humane Sagar has deepened, with actor Anubhav Mohanty reaching out to the late singer’s family and assuring them that he has demanded a detailed investigation into the incident. Mohanty said he has submitted a letter to Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, urging a thorough probe.

The actor made the statement while leading a tribute programme organised by the Ollywood fraternity in Titilagarh to honour Humane Sagar’s contributions to Odia music. The event, attended by fellow artists, fans, and local dignitaries, included a ceremony at the singer’s grave where Mohanty paid respects.

In an interaction with media persons, the actor heaped praise on Humane Sagar’s personal resilience, stating that the latter had faced multiple hardships in life while remaining devoted to his wife and daughter.

Anubhav Mohanty Warns Of ‘Exposes’

Anubhav Mohanty emphasised the need for a comprehensive inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Humane Sagar’s death. He informed that he had written to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi requesting a formal investigation.

"I may not be the one to deliver justice, but I will definitely fight for it," Mohanty said, adding that all individuals involved in the singer’s death would be held responsible once the probe concludes.

“I have written a letter to the Hon'ble CM Mohan Charan Majhi requesting a detailed probe into the matter. He, too, has taken the matter very seriously, and a lot of details will be revealed soon. Everyone who was involved (in his death) will be punished,” he said.

Mohanty also addressed rumours circulating after Sagar’s passing. While refraining from commenting on unverified claims, he stressed that a thorough investigation is essential to uncover the facts.

In an apparent jibe at the allegations surrounding Humane's manager abusing his mother after his death, Anubhav said that "Several people have been saying a lot of things after his death. I believe it is good for the probe because they do not know what truth they spoke out.”

Family Engagement and Emotional Support

During his visit, Mohanty met Humane Sagar’s mother, providing emotional support and assuring the family of the industry’s solidarity. He described Sagar as someone who had endured numerous pressures in life, yet remained committed to his family and profession.

Humane Sagar passed away on November 17 while undergoing intensive treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar for more than 72 hours. He was aged 36. A slew of claims and allegations regarding professional abuse of the singer by his managers have rocked the industry ever since.
