Tension gripped the Chandaka area of Bhubaneswar after a human skeleton was discovered inside the forest on Friday.

As per reports, the partially buried remains were found with half of the skeleton under the soil and the rest exposed above ground.

Locals were terrified upon seeing the skeleton, as the skull, jawbone, ribs, and leg bones were found scattered around the site. Upon receiving the information, police and Forest Department officials rushed to the spot and have begun an investigation.

According to reports, a person from the area had been missing for over a month, raising suspicions that the remains could belong to the missing individual. However, questions remain—who buried the body, and why?

Suspecting foul play, the police have initiated a detailed inquiry and are awaiting the arrival of a forensic and scientific team to carry out further investigation.

As per sources, some Forest Department officials found the human skeleton during a search operation in the area and informed the Chandaka police about the incident. An unnatural case in connection with the incident has been registered at Chandaka Police Station, and an investigation has been launched. 

As per police sources, the identity of the person could be revealed after receiving the DNA test and the scientific reports.
