Heartbreaking! Uncle, nephew among three killed in Nayagarh bike crash

In a tragic road mishap, at least three persons lost their lives following a violent head-on collision between two motorcycles near Godipalli village under Odagaon block in Nayagarh district on Tuesday.

According to reports, the deceased have been identified as Silu Nayak, a resident of Karsing village, his nephew Santosh Raut from Kendrapada, and Mohan Barik of Chemedi village. Silu and Santosh were reportedly returning home from Odagaon on a TVS motorcycle, while Mohan was heading towards Odagaon on a Royal Enfield Bullet.

The fatal accident occurred near the Godipalli petrol pump, where both motorcycles collided head-on with such intensity that the impact lifted them nearly seven feet into the air before they crashed onto the road. All three riders were thrown off their vehicles and were left unconscious at the spot.

Upon being alerted, Odagaon police and a fire services team rushed to the scene and immediately shifted the victims to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared all three brought dead. Police have seized the mangled vehicles and initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the collision.

This tragic incident comes close on the heels of another major road mishap in Sundargarh district, where at least five people were killed and more than ten others critically injured after a bus collided with a truck on National Highway 520 near K Balang Police Station, sending shockwaves through the local community.
