Headless body of woman recovered in Malkangiri; clash erupts between two villages

Tension gripped MV-26 and Rakhelguda villages in Malkangiri district after the recovery of a woman’s headless body from a river. 

According to local sources, the deceased woman belonged to Rakhelguda village. Her body was found floating in the river under mysterious circumstances, raising serious suspicion of foul play.

Following the incident, both villages have come face-to-face amid growing unrest and allegations related to the woman’s death. The situation turned tense as locals demanded clarification and immediate action from authorities.

To prevent escalation and maintain law and order, police forces have been deployed in the area. The investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the death. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely to avoid further clashes between the two villages.

As per sources, the body has been sent for post-mortem. However, the head of the woman is yet to be found. The villagers are demanding to trace the head immediately and hand over the body to the family members so that cremation could be conducted.

It is suspected that the woman might have been murdered by some persons of the other village over property related matter. As per reports, some individuals vandalised and set houses on fire in the MV-26 village. However, local police immediately intervened and things are in control now.

Police are currently questioning some persons over the incident and further investigation is underway.
