The much-awaited Gopalpur Beach Festival will be held from January 22 to 26 this year, officials confirmed after a preparatory meeting chaired by Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena.
The festival, which is being celebrated annually since 1997, was traditionally held from December 24 to 29 every year.
During the preparatory meeting, district officials discussed logistics, security, and arrangements for the festival, ensuring that all necessary measures are in place for a smooth celebration. Transport, accommodation, and public facilities will be coordinated to handle the expected influx of visitors.
Speaking to the media, Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena said, “We were disappointed if Gopalpur Beach festival would be celebrated or not. The district officials were present and the written form has been prepared and decided that the festival will happen. And in this festival, you will find a lot of visitors including foreigners.”
Authorities are optimistic that the festival will attract tourists from across the country and abroad, boosting local tourism and providing opportunities for cultural exchange.

The event is expected to showcase the rich heritage of Gopalpur, including traditional performances, handicrafts, and local cuisine, reaffirming its status as a key cultural attraction in Odisha.
