From third place to triumph in Nuapada: BJP’s Jay Dholakia achieves what his late father couldn’t

The BJP has created a new chapter in Nuapada’s political history by securing a sweeping victory in the recently concluded bypoll the result of which was declared on Friday. In a remarkable feat, Jay Dholakia accomplished what his father, Raju Dholakia, could never realize, an emphatic win with a margin of over 83,000 votes.

In a constituency where the BJP once occupied the third position, the party has now surged to the top with an overwhelming mandate. Congress candidate Ghasiram Majhi secured the second position, while the BJD, banking on Snehangini Chhuria, slipped to third.

The remarkable win in the first by-election under the double-engine government has sparked widespread celebrations across the BJP camp.

An emotional Jay Dholakia dedicated the victory to his late father, saying the success was possible because of Raju Dholakia’s blessings.

“The win is not mine. It is the win of the BJP, the people of Nuapada, and my late father Raju Bhai Dholkia. It is the win of PM Modi ji, Odisha’s beloved CM Mohan Majhi, and the development of Nuapada,” Jay Dholakia said.
