According to the official schedule, the Prime Minister will arrive at Veer Surendra Sai (VSS) Airport, Jharsuguda, at 11:15 am, and will be received by the Governor, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and the two Deputy Chief Ministers.  He will then proceed to the Amlipali Ground to address the ‘Namo Yuva Samabesh.’ Modi is expected to remain in the state for about 90 minutes before departing at 12:45 pm.

During the visit, PM Modi will flag off the Amrit Bharat Express connecting Berhampur with Udhna in Gujarat’s Surat district via video conference, inaugurate a 5 km Sambalpur City flyover built for Rs 273 crore, and dedicate railway doubling projects in Koraput and southern Odisha worth Rs 1,400 crore.

The Prime Minister will also launch BSNL’s ‘Swadeshi’ 4G stack, a landmark step in indigenous telecom technology, and lay the foundation stone for a semiconductor and ESDM park in Bhubaneswar. Further, he will inaugurate Wi-Fi-enabled facilities in 130 higher education institutions across Odisha, benefiting over 2.5 lakh students.

In the healthcare sector, Modi will unveil master plans for upgrading MKCG Medical College, Berhampur, and VIMSAR, Sambalpur, into super-speciality hospitals. He will also announce the expansion of eight IITs, launch a National Skill Development Programme, and hand over approval letters to 50,000 families under the Antyodaya Housing Scheme.

Taking to his X handle, formerly Twitter, ahead of his Odisha Visit, PM Mpdi wrote, "Will be in Jharsuguda, Odisha, to inaugurate developmental works worth over Rs. 50,000 crore. In a historic feat, over 97,500 telecom towers across India would be commissioned. These have been built using local technologies and will boost connectivity in remote areas, border areas and those affected by Maoism. The other projects being launched or foundation stones being laid pertain to rail connectivity, expansion of IIT infrastructure, skill development centres, housing and much more. These works are in line with our vision to build a Viksit Bharat where the poor and downtrodden get access to all-round development."

Notably, this will be Modi’s sixth visit to Odisha in just 15 months since the BJP formed government in the state in June 2024. While the meeting was earlier scheduled for Berhampur in Ganjam district, it was shifted to Jharsuguda due to forecasts of heavy rain in southern Odisha. However, the IMD has also predicted thunderstorms and gusty winds in Jharsuguda on Saturday.

Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, who is overseeing the arrangements, said, “The Prime Minister’s tour is unique as no other state has witnessed so many visits in little more than a year.”
