Free coaching to IAS, OAS, OPSC, OSSC aspirants in Odisha; check district, selection test details

In a major initiative to support civil services aspirants, the Ganjam district administration has announced free coaching for students preparing for administrative service examinations.

The announcement was made by Ganjam District Collector V. Keerthi Vasan on Saturday.

Free Civil Services Coaching Details:

Under the programme, students from the district’s three subdivisions, Berhampur, Chhatrapur and Bhanjanagar, will be provided free coaching.

A selection test will be conducted to shortlist candidates, and 50 students will be selected for the coaching programme.

The district administration has planned to involve serving IAS and OAS officers posted in the district, who will guide the selected students and share their personal experiences, preparation strategies and insights into the civil services examination.

The selection test for the programme is scheduled to be held on January 25.

The initiative has been widely welcomed by civil services aspirants in the district, who described it as a timely and encouraging step by the administration to nurture local talent and reduce the financial burden of costly coaching.

“We are going to oragnise a guidance module for the candidates of the district preparing for various competitive exams including OPSC, UPSC, OSSC and OSSSC. It has been named as Ganjam Lakhya Niketan. In the first phase, an integrated predatory course for OPSC and UPSC will be arranged,” said V. Keerthi Vasan, collector.

Welcoming the move, Mahesh Sethi, an aspirant said, “Many candidates are not economically strong enough to avail coaching. It has an also online provision. Working officers will share their experience and preparation tips.”

“I am very happy for this initiative. Many aspirants could not afford coaching. I welcome the move,” said Asha Pradhan, an aspirant.
