Koraput: Four doctors of the Medicine department of Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital in the district resigned today.

Sources said the doctors allegedly resigned after the Dean of the medical college and hospital did not release their salaries over shortage of attendance.

As per reports, there were allegations of shortage of attendance against doctors. Despite coming to the hospital daily, there was shortage of attendance in the biometric system.

The doctors in a letter to the hospital authorities have said that they would not join duty until their salary is released, reports added.

Meanwhile, healthcare services were severely affected following the resignation of the doctors.

Congress chief whip Tara Prasad Bahinipati visited the hospital and held talks with the doctors and authorities of the hospital over the matter.

Comments of the doctors or the hospital authorities could not be obtained over the matter.
