A man posing as a recovery agent landed in trouble after forcibly taking away a vehicle in Bhubaneswar despite the owner having cleared his installment dues. The agent was allegedly demanding extra money even after the EMI was paid.
As per reports, police have arrested Deepak Baliarsingh, the alleged mastermind of the recovery-agent gang. He was apprehended by Saheed Nagar police. The accused has also been forwarded to the court.
Deepak had been reportedly working as a recovery agent in an agency named as Maa Bhagabati Associates. On Tuesday, Deepak lifted a car following which the vehicle owner lodged a complaint at Saheed Nagar Police Station. Following the complaint, police swung into action and arrested Deepak.

Deepak is accused of exploiting multiple people in a similar manner. Police have seized as many as two cars from his possession. Other members of the gang are still absconding, and a manhunt is underway to trace and arrest them.
"I have not done anything forcefully. I have taken action as per the bank rule. I have not seized the car on the road. I have seized the vehicle in the proper way. Bank has given me the authorisation. Police have implicated me falsely. I have seized the car in the proper way. I have an organisation as per the government law. I don't know what the allegation against me is. I have worked in the proper manner as per the bank rules," accused Deepak Baliarsingh said.
