East Coast Railway announces special trains, additional coaches to manage heavy rush
In view of the increasing passenger rush, the East Coast Railways (ECoR) on Saturday announced a series of special trains along with additional coach arrangements on several important routes. The move aims to ensure smoother travel for passengers heading towards major cities such as Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Sambalpur, and Visakhapatnam.
According to official information, a special Bhubaneswar–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) train will depart from Bhubaneswar on December 8, offering relief to travellers bound for Mumbai. Similarly, the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus–Sambalpur special train will depart from LTT on December 9, catering to passengers from Maharashtra travelling toward Western Odisha.

• Dec 8: Bhubaneswar–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Special will depart from Bhubaneswar.
• Dec 9: Lokmanya Tilak Terminus–Sambalpur Special will leave from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus.
• Dec 8: Puri–Anand Vihar Terminal Special Train will depart from Puri.
• Dec 9: Anand Vihar Terminal–Bhubaneswar Special will depart from Anand Vihar.
• Dec 8: Visakhapatnam–SMVB Bengaluru Special will leave from Visakhapatnam.
• Dec 9: SMVB Bengaluru–Visakhapatnam Special will depart from SMVB Bengaluru.

In view of increased demand and to clear the extra rush of passengers, East Coast Railway has decided to run following TOD Special Trains, towards the most demanding routes....

For North India–bound travellers, the Puri–Anand Vihar Terminal special train will depart Puri on December 8, while its return service, the Anand Vihar Terminal–Bhubaneswar special, will leave Anand Vihar on December 9. These services are expected to significantly ease congestion on popular winter routes connecting Odisha with the national capital region.
In South India routes, the Visakhapatnam–SMVB Bengaluru special train will leave Visakhapatnam on December 8, with the return Bengaluru–Visakhapatnam special departing SMVB on December 9.
Additionally, several trains heading towards Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, and Howrah will be provided with extra coaches to handle increased passenger demand.
