DJ showdown despite ban throws Odisha village into chaos

A loud and unusual dispute between two DJs late Friday night captured the attention of villagers in Gadadharapur under Tigiria police station limits in Cuttack's Athagarh district. The clash occurred during the Girigovardhan Puja celebrations, when both DJs reportedly attempted to outdo each other with booming music, creating a chaotic sound environment in the village.

The state government has imposed a complete ban on DJ sound during religious and festive occasions to avoid noise pollution and maintain public peace. Despite this, the DJs continued to play at full volume, raising concerns about the enforcement of the regulation.

Villagers expressed frustration over the unchecked noise, questioning why the administration failed to intervene and enforce the ban.
