Ahead of Diwali celebrations in Odisha, the Cuttack Police have imposed restrictions on bursting firecrackers in the city, allowing the activity only between 7 pm and 9 pm.
The announcement was made by Cuttack DCP Rishikesh Khilari, who stated that the decision aligns with similar restrictions in Bhubaneswar.
As per reports, the Commissionerate Police has clarified that firecrackers may be burst only within the designated two-hour time frame.
It has also warned that strict action will be taken against individuals found violating the rule by bursting crackers after 9 pm. Residents have been urged to comply with the prescribed timings and safety guidelines.
Police Arrangements for Kali Puja
As Kali Puja is also being observed, the DCP informed that separate police arrangements have been made at pandals and other sensitive locations across the city to ensure public safety and order.
