The weather system is expected to strengthen further into a Deep Depression within the next 24 hours and may even develop into a cyclonic storm over the following day as it continues its west-northwestward trajectory.

However, the weather agency has clarified that the system will not have any direct impact on Odisha. As a result, the State is expected to remain mostly dry for the next seven days, though cloudy conditions may appear at isolated places.

Meanwhile, another weather system near Sri Lanka is also intensifying and may turn into a Depression within 24 hours. IMD forecasts indicate that neither of the two systems are likely to significantly influence Odisha.

The department added that temperatures will remain steady for the next 48 hours, with only a mild winter-like feel. From tomorrow, temperatures may drop by 2 to 3 Degrees Celsius, allowing residents to experience a renewed touch of winter across the State.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD regional centre in Bhubaneswar stated, “Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha till 0830 hrs IST of 02.12.2025.”

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput and Sundargarh. This forecast is valid up to 0830 hrs IST of November 26. However, the IMD has not issued any warnings for the six days thereafter.

“Minimum (night) temperature is very likely to fall by 2°C to 3°C over the districts of Odisha during the next two days and likely to rise by 2°C to 3°C during the subsequent five days,” the IMD bulletin mentioned.
