The incident has once again raised concerns over the use of Chinese manja, which is banned in many places due to its life-threatening nature. Locals have urged the authorities to take strict action to prevent such incidents and ensure public safety.

“Two of my neighbours have been injured. He was on his way to the office when the manjha came from nowhere and stuck in their throat, leading to serious injuries.  His aunt was sitting pillion and also suffered injuries. All this happened due to negligence by the police and administration, as there is no checking or warning, leading to the open sale of manjhas and kites. This will only lead to more such mishaps in the future. He now has four stitches on his throat. Similar is the condition of his aunt,” alleged the victim’s neighbour.
