Three days after the woman’s death, her brother, identified as Rashmiranjan Ojha of Niali village under Balichandrapur police station, approached Kendrapara Sadar police and lodged a formal complaint. In his statement, he categorically denied the suicide theory, alleging that his sister was murdered.

She told me she was going because her father had not given her money. I advised her to ask her brother to transfer the money online. After that, she left for Bhubaneswar, saying she would return in two days. When I called her after two days, she said she would come back the next morning as her health was not good. Then, we received the information that she is no more,” said Kuntala Ojha, the mother of the deceased girl.

Serious Allegations Against Male Friend and Family

In the complaint, Rashmiranjan accused his sister’s male friend, Subrat Das, of being directly involved in the alleged murder. He further claimed that Subrat’s family members were also complicit in the crime. The allegations have added a new dimension to the case, prompting demands for a deeper investigation.

“My sister told us that she was going to Bhubaneswar on Monday for an interview. After the interview, she said she would return home on Wednesday. When she did not return, we contacted her. She then told us that she was with Subrat Das, a boy from the same village whom she liked, and that she was staying in his room. The boy’s family members were not in agreement with their relationship. Subrat called her to his room and, as part of a conspiracy, killed her that night. The next morning, he called my father and informed the other villagers about the incident, claiming that the girl, who was studying medical science, was in a serious condition. However, when we contacted the doctors and hospital staff, they told us that she had already died,” said Rashmiranjan Ojha, brother of the deceased girl.
