Day temperature likely to rise by 2–3°C in Odisha after two days: IMD

The maximum temperature across Odisha is expected to remain largely unchanged over the next two days. However, a gradual rise of 2–3 degree Celcius is likely during the following three days, according to the latest forecast issued by the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar.

The weather office on Monday informed that there will be no significant change in the day temperatures after the rise across the districts of the state.

Temperature Trend Forecast

As per the forecast issued by the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, the maximum temperature is expected to remain stable initially before witnessing a gradual increase later in the week.

The predicted rise of 2–3 degree Celcius during the subsequent three days could push daytime temperature higher across several parts of the state, while overall weather conditions are expected to remain largely stable.

Highest and Lowest Temperatures

Among the plains of Odisha, Jharsuguda recorded the highest maximum temperature at 37.6 degree Celcius during the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Rayagada at 17.4 degree Celcius, indicating comparatively cooler night conditions in parts of the southern region of the state.

Rainfall Recorded

Light rainfall activity was reported in a few locations during the same period.

In Bhadrak district, the station at Chandbali recorded trace rainfall (less than 0.1 mm), while Keonjhar district also recorded trace rainfall at the Keonjhar station.

Temperature In Capital Region

In the capital city of Bhubaneswar, the maximum temperature was recorded at 33.7 degree Celcius, while the minimum temperature stood at 23.4 degree Celcius.

Nearby Cuttack recorded a maximum temperature of 32.4 degree Celcius and a minimum temperature of 21.8 degree Celcius.

No rainfall was recorded in either city during the past 24 hours.
