Dama Rout hints at forming new party
Bhubaneswar: Expelled BJD leader Dama Rout today hinted at the possibility of creating a new party on the ideology of late Biju Patnaik. However, he denied taking any such step immediately.
Speaking to media persons, Rout said, “The people who have worked with, have seen or have lived their lives on the ideology of late Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, don’t exist in the current Biju Janata Dal (BJD).”
“There are many people in the current BJD who speak very highly about the legendary leader. They do so to stay in power,” Dama alleged.
Reacting to Dama’s statements, senior BJD leader and minister, Surya Narayan Patro said “BJD party has been formed with people who follow Biju Patnaik’s ideology. BJD itself is based on Biju Patnaik’s ideas.”
“How can someone form another party with his name?” questioned Patro.
“People will not accept it as they will understand the motive behind such step,” Patro added.
