Cuttack–Bhubaneswar under tight vigil for Durga Puja with drones, CCTV and 61 platoons of police

Briefing the media, Police Commissioner S. Devdatta Singh on Monday informed that a total of 61 platoons of police force have been deployed across the two cities. In addition, 20 platoons of Home Guards have also been stationed to ensure smooth conduct of the festivities.

Focus On Puja Mandaps

Security cover has been provided to 193 puja mandaps while special arrangements have been made for 24 puja pandals that feature heavy decorations and ornaments.

To prevent incidents related to fire and electrical hazards, the Commissionerate Police has taken special precautionary measures. Focus has also been laid on crowd management and traffic regulation during peak hours.

Police are keeping a close aerial watch using drones while a Smart Control Room has been set up to monitor and manage festival activities during the Durga Puja in real time.

All puja mandaps are under round-the-clock CCTV surveillance to ensure public safety and quick response in case of emergencies.

The Twin City Police Commissioner appealed to the public to cooperate, celebrate responsibly and assist police in maintaining law and order during the festivities.
