Authorities on Tuesday took action in connection with an incident in which a patient fell from an ICU bed at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

As per reports, staff members who were on duty at the time of the incident have been removed from their responsibilities. The information was shared by the Additional Superintendent of SCB Medical College.

Shocking visuals from the SCB ICU had earlier surfaced, showing a female patient falling to the floor after the side railing of her bed broke. The video of the incident went viral on social media, triggering widespread concern.

The incident raised serious questions about patient safety and supervision inside the ICU, as no attendant or staff member was seen nearby when the patient fell. How a patient undergoing treatment in the ICU could be left unattended and end up in such a situation caused outrage among the patient’s family members and the general public.

After these disturbing visuals of apparent patient negligence inside the SCB ICU came to light, the alleged carelessness of the doctors, nurses, and attendants on duty came under sharp scrutiny.
