The area near Barabati Stadium’s Upara Padia (upper ground), already known for attracting daily crowds of food enthusiasts, witnessed an even larger turnout. People from Cuttack and various parts of the State gathered in large numbers, eager to indulge in the famous delicacy and be part of the festive spirit surrounding the occasion.

Food lovers from across the State throng the famous Upara Padia stretch to savour the beloved delicacy.

“Today, the people of Cuttack have gathered with one heart and soul for Dahibara Day to enjoy its taste. The core of it all is the tradition started by Raghu Sasmal, which others have kept alive. That’s a wonderful thing, and it will continue in the years to come,” a male Cuttack resident said to OTV.

“We people from Cuttack always come to eat Dahibara. On this special occasion, we went to ‘Cuttack-in-Cuttack’, where there was a big celebration at around 11.00 AM. We come here every day at 10.00 AM for Dahibara. For us in Cuttack, we need Dahibara as soon as we wake up, so we come here to eat it,” a female resident stated.

“Look at this crowd! We can’t even keep up with serving; customers are quite restless today. But since we are serving them happily... you can see the rush. Isn't it great? This is a joy. Everyone is roaming all over Cuttack town and eating Dahibara Aloodum,” Megha Dahibara Stall owner expressed when contacted.

“The crowd has been here since 8.00 AM. Even now, we can’t keep up with serving. It will be like this all day. Whatever stock has come in, double the quantity will be brought again,” the roadside eatery vendor added.
