Bhubaneswar: A day after the Supreme Court of India issued a stay on the Orissa High Court order that prohibited the entry of people into the State of Odisha without COVID-19 test, as many as five different trains carrying migrants people from outside states are scheduled to arrive in Odisha.

While 3 trains carrying stranded Odia migrants will be arriving from Gujarat, one each will arrive from Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.

As per East Coast Railway sources, four of the five trains will reach Odisha by tomorrow while the fifth one will reach the destination on Monday.

The first train departed Surat at around 1.30 PM on Saturday and will reach Jagannathpur Railway Station in Ganjam district tomorrow. As a goodwill gesture, the stranded people returning to Odisha in the train showered flowers on Surat district administration officials after boarding the train.

One more train from Panvel Railway Station in Maharashtra will also reach Titlagarh junction in the State tomorrow. Two trains carrying workers will arrive at Khurda Road station in Odisha from Ahmedabad area of Gujarat.

The fifth train will leave Chennai Railway Station carrying Odia migrants from Tamil Nadu at around 10 PMtoday and will reach Jagannathpur on Monday, informed ECoR sources.

It may be noted that Odisha government launched Subha Yatra initiative to bring back Odia people stranded in other States of India amid lockdown in special Shramik trains.
