The meeting witnessed chaos from the very beginning as several councillors raised strong objections over alleged administrative failures.

Councillors alleged that no developmental work is taking place in several wards under the NAC. They further accused two senior officers of functioning arbitrarily and ignoring the concerns raised by elected representatives. The situation escalated as repeated demands for answers went unaddressed, leading to sloganeering and heated exchanges inside the meeting hall.

As the protests intensified, the meeting could not proceed and was eventually called off halfway through. Councillors expressed frustration over what they described as the administration’s inability and unwillingness to resolve civic issues affecting local residents.

Speaking to the media, councillor Laxmidhar Sahu said the officials openly admitted their helplessness. “They told us directly that they won’t be able to answer us, so we told them that we are not going to support them in this meeting. Because they are not able to find solutions to our problems,” he said.
