Severe cold conditions continue to grip Odisha, with the chill intensifying across the state. The biting cold has tightened its hold on the capital city as well. Bhubaneswar recorded a minimum temperature of 11.4 degrees Celsius today, marking a sharp drop of 7.2 degrees compared to the last three days.

While the mercury stood at 15.4 degrees Celsius in Bhubaneswar yesterday, the sudden fall has left the city shivering today.

Meanwhile, Jharsuguda continues to witness intense cold conditions, recording the lowest temperature in the state at 7.4 degrees Celsius. Keonjhar reported 9.2 degrees, Balasore recorded 11.2 degrees, while Chandbali and Paradeep registered 12.4 degrees Celsius each.

According to the Meteorological Centre, the continuous inflow of dry and cold northerly winds into the state is likely to further intensify the cold wave. Over the next three days, night temperatures are expected to drop by 1 to 1.5 degrees Celsius.

Cold conditions are likely to worsen in both hilly and coastal regions. Additionally, the weather department has forecast the possibility of dense fog at several places across the state during this period.
