Chief Justice of India, Justice Surya Kant, arrived in Bhubaneswar on Saturday on his first official visit to Odisha after assuming office. On his arrival at the Biju Patnaik International Airport, he was warmly welcomed by Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan and other dignitaries.
During his visit, Chief Justice Surya Kant is scheduled to attend a program organised by the Cuttack High Court Bar Association tomorrow. The event is expected to see participation from senior members of the legal fraternity, including judges, lawyers, and officials from across the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan extended a warm welcome to the Chief Justice and highlighted the importance of fostering close interaction between the judiciary and legal professionals in Odisha.

“The Chief Justice Surya Kant has just reached safely. He is scheduled to attend a programme organised by the Cuttack High Court Bar Association tomorrow. As per the protocol, we welcomed him. He will stay tonight and depart for Delhi tomorrow after the program,” informed Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan.
This visit marks a significant occasion as it provides an opportunity for the state’s legal community to engage directly with the highest authority of the Indian judiciary.
Chief Justice Surya Kant’s presence in Odisha is expected to strengthen dialogue on legal issues and inspire young advocates in the region.
