In a significant development, the Central Government will bear the entire cost of constructing 92 railway overbridges across Odisha. It has reportedly been approved by the Ministry of Railways.
Previously, the cost of these projects was to be shared equally (50:50) between the Railways and the State Government. However, following a request from the Odisha Government to have the entire expenditure covered by the Centre, the Ministry of Railways has now agreed to fully fund the construction of all 92 overbridges across different locations in the state. The decision was formally communicated through an official letter.
