Bhubaneswar: The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha has directed heads of all examination centres/sub-centres and practical laboratories of self-financing colleges to furnish CCTV installation status of the colleges in SAMS e-Space by January 10. The council has strictly mentioned that those who fail to do so will not be declared as examination centres for annual Higher Secondary Exams 2020.

Reportedly, the Controller of Examinations has shot letters to the Principals /Headmasters/ Headmistresses of all the examination centres/ sub-centres of CHSE, Odisha including the Practical examination centres of Self Financing Colleges requesting them to provide the CCTV installation status of their respective colleges online in the prescribed format which will be available in SAMS e-Space under CCTV link with effect from January 7, 2020.

The Controller made it clear that if the required data (which is to be provided in online mode only) is not furnished by January 10, the concerned college/Higher Secondary School will not be declared as an examination centre/sub-centre for the Annual Higher Secondary Examination, 2020.

This apart, the centres must ensure that CCTV has been installed in all the examination halls, office room, where the sealed Question Packets would be opened and answer scripts are sealed for dispatch, the common entrance of gate checking, corridor and stair in between the Office Room and the examination halls, and other important places including the places, where there is apprehension of any public involvement with full coverage of the area.

The schools and colleges must also ensure that there is a power back up for at least five hours at the time of power failure. The exam centres should also make sure that Internet connection is given to the CCTV for remote visualisation and that the CCTV cameras are functioning in the examination halls and EMHs.

The institutions must also verify whether the CCTV cameras are functioning in the practical labs of self-financing colleges. This apart, they should confirm that all the recordings of the examination period are stored in an external hard disc for storage of CCTV footage for verification purpose.
