Following the accident, traffic movement on the stretch reportedly came to a complete standstill for around 30 minutes, leading to long queues of vehicles on both sides of the road. The situation was brought under control after a crane was pressed into service to remove both damaged vehicles from the road.

Normal vehicular movement was restored only after the two cars were cleared from the accident site. Preliminary assessment suggests that overspeeding may have been the primary cause of the accident. Authorities are further investigating the incident.
