Car bursts into flames after heater use, 3 have narrow escape in Koraput

Three individuals had a narrow escape after their car caught fire while they were inside the vehicle early on Saturday morning. The incident occurred within the premises of a private hospital at Lamptaput in Odisha’s Koraput district. According to reports, the blaze broke out shortly after the occupants switched on the car’s heater to beat the night chill.

As per reports, the vehicle belonged to Tankadhar Macha of Nandapur area. He had brought his ailing wife to the medical centre on Friday. Early in the morning, as the weather turned slightly cold, Tankadhar, his brother, and the driver switched on the heater inside the car to rest. Within moments, the car caught fire, prompting all three to rush out of the vehicle.

Fire Doused After Alert Raised

The three individuals, along with attendants of other patients and hospital staff, initially tried to douse the fire but were unable to contain the flames. 

Later, local Fire Services personnel reached the spot after being informed and brought the fire under control.

Vehicle Completely Destroyed

No casualties were reported in the incident. However, the vehicle was completely destroyed in the blaze. The timely escape of the three passengers prevented what could have been a major tragedy, as the mishap could have resulted in serious injuries or even fatalities.
