Incidents of two-wheeler theft have raised concerns in Bhubaneswar, with bike and scooter thieves reportedly active in several areas in the state capital. A recent case of theft was reported from the Bapuji Nagar locality on Thursday, where a vehicle was stolen in broad daylight, highlighting the growing boldness of offenders.
The incident has caused anxiety among residents, especially as the theft occurred during peak daytime hours. The manner in which the vehicle was taken suggests a well-planned operation, prompting police to step up monitoring in the area.
Thieves Use Master Keys to Steal Vehicles
According to police sources, the accused used master keys to unlock a parked scooter and rode away without drawing suspicion. CCTV footage shows the thief casually approaching the vehicle and taking it away as if it belonged to him, making it difficult for passers-by to detect the crime in real time.
