Panic gripped the premises of the District and Sessions Judge Court in Keonjhar district on Tuesday after a threatening e-mail warned of blowing up the court building with explosives. Following the alert, an FIR was lodged at Town Police Station, prompting a detailed probe.

Acting swiftly, the Town Police rushed to the court along with sniffer dogs, a bomb disposal squad, and a platoon of force. Security personnel conducted a thorough search operation across the court premises to rule out any possible bomb threat.
Officials said the investigation began immediately after the complaint was registered. The presence of police teams and security personnel created a tense atmosphere in the area. However, as the court was closed due to the holiday, public movement was limited, providing some relief and preventing large-scale panic.
Authorities are now working to trace the source of the threatening e-mail while maintaining heightened security around the court complex.
“We received information that there might be an objectionable object, such as a bomb, within the court premises today. Following the SP's instructions, a search is being conducted by the bomb squad, dog squad, and a platoon of the police force,” Sadar SDPO, Sudarshan Gangoi, said to mediapersons.
“Nothing has been found yet. The search is still going on,” the SDPO added.
Worth mentioning, earlier in another incident, a court in Odisha’s Sambalpur had received a fresh bomb threat late on Sunday night, triggering an immediate security response and a comprehensive search operation across the court premises.
A police team, along with the bomb disposal squad and dog squad, had reached the spot at around 11.00 pm and began an extensive inspection using sniffer dogs and metal detectors. Cyber Police personnel were also present during the operation.
