Body of man found at Odisha minister’s official residence in Bhubaneswar, probe underway

The body of a man was recovered from the official residence of Odisha Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra in Bhubaneswar on Thursday, triggering concern and prompting a police investigation. The deceased has been identified as Shankarshan Nag, aged 46.

According to initial reports, he was a native of Belpahad village in Bolangir district and was serving as an aide to the minister.

Police said preliminary findings suggest that Shankarshan Nag died due to electrocution. However, the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be ascertained.

After receiving information, police personnel reached the spot and initiated necessary procedures.

An unnatural death case has been registered at the Capital Police Station in Bhubaneswar. The body was later sent for post-mortem examination to determine the precise cause of death.

Police officials stated that further investigation is underway to establish how the electrocution occurred and whether any negligence or other factors were involved. 

More details are expected to emerge after the completion of the probe.
