Speaking on the occasion, Baijayant Panda said Kulamani Rout had carved out a distinct identity for himself in Odisha’s political landscape. He noted that the former MLA was deeply concerned about the progress of the agricultural sector and consistently worked towards the farmers’ welfare.

The Kendrapara MP also recalled that the former MLA had remained closely connected with people at the grassroots level throughout his political career.

Describing him as a rare personality with a strong moral image, Panda said leaders like Kulamani Rout, who combine public service with humility and dedication, are uncommon.

The condolence meeting was also attended by leaders from various other political parties, intellectuals, public representatives, senior teachers, social workers, and family members of the late Kulamani Rout.

“He (the former MLA) had loved this region, every resident, co-workers, and contemporary people from the core of his heart. He had always been trying to help everyone in some or the other way. Due to his old age, he had gradually lost the strength to work extensively in rural areas towards the last part of his life,” former Minister Debasis Nayak said.

“However, he had been trying a lot to reach out to the needy people and help them. We all are deeply shocked that he departed so suddenly,” Debasis Nayak added.
