BJP lodges police complaint alleging misappropriation of 548 quintals of wheat in Binjharpur

The BJP has lodged a complaint at Binjharpur police station alleging large-scale irregularities in the distribution of wheat under the block’s public supply system. According to the party, 548 quintals of wheat allotted to eligible beneficiaries in 2022 were never distributed and were instead misappropriated by the then Block Supply Officer and the president of the dealers’ association.

Party leaders said the matter reflects a serious lapse in the handling of essential commodities meant for the public and called for swift corrective action.

BJP Demands Impartial Probe

The BJP demanded an immediate, impartial investigation into the alleged misappropriation and urged the administration to initiate strict action against those found responsible.

BJP leader Niranjan Behuria said the party expects accountability and restitution.

“Those involved in the corruption in wheat distribution must face appropriate action. Our primary concern is that beneficiaries receive the wheat that was meant for them. Under the supervision of our leader, Babita Mallick, we visited the police station to place this demand,” he said.
