Bhubaneswar set for grand 77th Republic Day parade; full-dress rehearsal held at Lower PMG

Bhubaneswar is all set to host the state-level celebrations of the 77th Republic Day as preparations across Odisha enter the final phase. With the national event just a day away, authorities have intensified arrangements to ensure a smooth and dignified celebration in the state capital.

At Lower PMG Square in Bhubaneswar, rigorous rehearsals for the Republic Day parade are currently underway. A full-dress rehearsal is being conducted today to fine-tune all aspects of the programme and ensure flawless coordination among participating contingents.

This year’s parade will feature as many as 54 contingents, including personnel from various uniformed services such as the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF), Home Guards, and Civil Defence units. Students from several government and private schools and colleges will also participate, bringing vibrancy and youthful enthusiasm to the ceremonial march.

Adding to the visual appeal, 12 departmental tableaux will be showcased during the parade, highlighting key achievements, welfare initiatives, and developmental milestones of different government departments. Cultural richness will be further reflected through performances by five folk dance and folk art troupes representing different districts of the state.

The programme will also include impressive skill demonstrations by daredevil teams and skating groups, promising an engaging and colourful spectacle for spectators. Officials have confirmed that comprehensive security and logistical arrangements are in place to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of the celebrations.

With all preparations nearing completion, Bhubaneswar is poised to witness a grand and memorable Republic Day celebration that reflects the spirit of patriotism, unity, and Odisha’s cultural pride.
