Bhubaneswar: With cyclonic storm ‘Titli’ expected to make landfall on Odisha coast on October 11, the Bhubaneswar airport authorities are bracing themselves in every possible way to tackle the situation.

“Emphasis is being laid on ensuring safety and security of the passengers and the airport. Contingency plans have been made accordingly,” said Biju Patnaik International Airport Director, Suresh Chandra Hota.

According to sources, the new domestic terminal of the airport is completely made of glass panes therefore the airport authorities have reportedly arranged sandbags as a precautionary measure against strong winds.

“Different departmental heads have also been instructed and alerted about the emergency situation while changes may be made in the flight schedule as per the situation,” added Hota.
