Bhubaneswar AIIMS employee murder case: Main accused still at large after 17 days

In the shocking murder case of AIIMS- Bhubaneswar employee Sudhanshu Khuntia at Sarakantara area under the Khandagiri Police Station in Bhubaneswar, police have yet to arrest the main accused, even after 17 days since the incident.

Despite repeated appeals, the victim’s family is still waiting for justice. Meanwhile, the family continues to live in fear as the main accused and his associates have allegedly issued life threats to them.

Seeking safety and justice, Khuntia’s family members have approached the Police Commissioner today, demanding immediate action and protection.

"When Rakesh Khuntia was arrested, he threatened that after my brother, it's my turn. Shiba Pradhan is still at large for around 20 days, and police have failed to capture him. He has threatened to kill me after my brother. Police are not arresting him intentionally. Shiba had got the gun from Rakesh," said a family member of the victim.

"We have approached Khandagiri Police Station twice or thrice over the matter. However, the police are only saying that they are trying. We are not satisfied with the investigation. That is why we approached the Police Commissioner seeking justice. The main accused is still at large. He deals with firearms. We are even scared to go out of home. They killed our brother in broad daylight. Now, they have targeted our younger brother. They have also threatened to kill our other family members. We are in a state of panic and remaining confined within our house," said another family member of the victim.

No comments were received from the police.

Notably, lab assistant of AIIMS Bhubaneswar- Sudhanshu Khuntia, was shot dead by unidentified assailants near Ransinghpur, under Khandagiri Police Limits, while he was on his way to work around 8 am.
