Berhampur DFO In Vigilance Scanner

Berhampur: Vigilance sleuths on Friday conducted raids at office and residences of Berhampur Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Ashish Kumar Behera on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Acting on a search warrant issued by Court of Special Judge Vigilance, Bhubaneswar, the officials of Vigilance cell division in Cuttack are reportedly conducting simultaneous raids at nine places including Behera’s flat in Mani Tribhuvan Apartment in Bhubaneswar, his official residence and office in Berhampur, paternal house in Bhanjanagar in Ganjam district and in-laws' house at Ambapua in Berhampur, said sources.

Similarly, searches were also conducted at Digapahandi Range Officer Paramananda Panigrahi’s residence at Jayshree Enclave in the town and Khallikote Range Officer Dillip Kumar Martha’s house and office at Courtpeta, Berhampur.

Search is still on and the total amount of assets unearthed will be ascertained after the raids are over, said an official.
