A 76-year-old man died and five others were injured after a swarm of bees attacked villagers at Jagulaipada under Rajkanika police station in Odisha's Kendrapara district. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon and has left residents shaken.
The deceased has been identified as Bailochan Biswal, a resident of Jagulaipada village. According to reports, the bees suddenly swarmed out of a tree near the village school and attacked people who were passing along the road.
Six Injured, Elderly Man Succumbs
In total, six persons sustained injuries in the attack and were admitted to the Rajkanika Community Health Centre for treatment. Bailochan’s condition reportedly turned critical, prompting doctors to shift him to the Kendrapara District Headquarters Hospital. He was later referred to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for advanced treatment.

However, he died while undergoing treatment.
