The Health Minister said beneficiaries who do not yet have Ayushman cards will be able to apply soon, track their application status digitally, and access scheme-related information online. In a major step towards inclusivity, all Ayushman Bharat data will soon be made available in Odia, making it easier for the general public to understand and avail the benefits.

To strengthen the health scheme’s implementation, three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were previously signed. The Chintan Shibir focused on Ayushman Bharat–Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, with discussions on implementation, card generation, and digital healthcare facilities.

The Minister reiterated that all card-related grievances would be resolved shortly.

“Ayushman Bharat scheme is the country’s biggest cashless as well as universal healthcare system. Whatever issues are there in it will be resolved within three days. Besides, three MoUs have been signed today with the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru and Bhashini (a multilingual app). Ayushman Bharat data will soon be provided in Odia, making it easier for citizens to understand and avail themselves of the benefits,” the Minister said.

Worth mentioning, the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) is set to be launched in Odisha, with Keonjhar district selected for the pilot phase. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi had issued the directive while reviewing programmes of the state Health Department. This was informed earlier by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on January 7.

The ambitious initiative ABDM aims to digitally integrate the healthcare services to improve efficiency and patient experience.

Under this mission, the appointments, bookings, referrals, and follow-ups will be conducted through various digital platforms. The to-be-introduced initiative is expected to significantly reduce patient waiting time and ensure optimal utilisation of healthcare infrastructure.
