Bhubaneswar: Former prime minister, late Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s ashes will be immersed in Puri on August 23. Odisha BJP unit president Basant Panda will be arriving with the urn (Asthi Kalash) containing the ashes in Bhubaneswar tomorrow.

The ashes will be kept at Odisha BJP headquarters for public 'darshan.'

Later, the ashes will be taken to Puri for the immersion ceremony on Thursday, informed BJP spokesperson, Golak Mohapatra.

“The ashes will be taken in a procession from Bhubaneswar. We appeal people and leaders from other parties to be a part of the ceremony,” said Mohapatra.

Following immersion, an all-party gathering will be organised in Bhubaneswar on August 24 in memory of Vajpayee.
