ASO exam irregularities: Orissa High Court blacklists Silicon Techlab for 5 years

The Orissa High Court has blacklisted Silicon Techlab Pvt Ltd for a period of five years over alleged irregularities in the conduct of Assistant Section Officers (ASO) examination.

According to the High Court order, the company will not be allowed to participate directly or indirectly in any work related to the High Court or courts under its jurisdiction during the five-year period.

The decision comes days after the Odisha government cancelled the empanelment of Silicon Techlab Pvt Ltd following its alleged involvement in the Special Investigator (SI) recruitment scam.

The High Court took serious note of the alleged irregularities committed by the agency during the ASO exam conducted in July 2025.

Earlier, on November 12, the Orissa High Court had annulled the main written examination conducted by the company on July 13, citing serious doubts over the fairness of the exam.

Meanwhile, the company’s owner, Suresh Nayak, was arrested by the State Crime Branch on November 3 in connection with the SI recruitment scam.

It is worth mentioning that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday arrested another accused in connection with the Odisha Police Sub-Inspector recruitment examination scam.

The arrested accused has been identified as Amit Bharati, who was taken into custody from Bihar, officials said.
