Andhra Pradesh’s continued interest in the disputed Kotia region has once again come to the fore, with state government officials facing strong resistance from local residents. An Andhra administrative team entered Sembi village in the Kotia area to conduct an e-survey for ration cards and Aadhaar, triggering sharp protests from villagers.

According to reports, Andhra government officials began the e-survey in the village when local residents objected to their presence and activities. Tensions escalated as villagers confronted the officials, leading to a heated exchange between the two sides. Locals alleged high-handed behaviour by the Andhra officials during the survey process.

The situation remained tense for some time before police intervened and issued a warning to the Andhra survey team. Following police instructions, the Andhra officials were forced to withdraw from the village. Normalcy was restored after the team left the area.

The incident has once again highlighted the ongoing administrative and territorial tensions in the Kotia region, where attempts by Andhra Pradesh authorities to conduct official activities continue to face stiff opposition from local residents.
