All the unsafe buildings in Cuttack will be demolished. Following the recent collapse of an apartment near Mani Sahu Chhak in Cuttack, Odisha government has taken serious note of the incident.
Responding to a related question in the Assembly, Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra informed that a special committee has been formed to identify unsafe and risky structures.
The committee is currently working to identify all such buildings within the Cuttack Municipal Corporation limits. Members of the committee are conducting surveys across all wards. Once the survey is completed, notices will be issued to the owners of the identified unsafe buildings, and demolition will be carried out as per regulations.

Notably, at least three people, including a child, were killed after the balcony of an old apartment building collapsed at Mani Sahu Chhak in Cuttack last month. The shocking incident t has sent shockwaves in the Silver City.
The tragic mishap occurred when the weakened structure suddenly gave way, crashing down onto a nearby asbestos-roofed house, trapping at least five members of a family beneath the rubble.
According to eyewitnesses, the apartment was an old, dilapidated structure. Residents expressed outrage as they had earlier called for the apartment to be demolished.
