ACME Group-IPICOL signs agreement for Rs 12,422 Cr green methanol plant in Odisha

ACME Group, one of India’s largest solar platforms, has reportedly signed an agreement to build a plant in Odisha at an investment of about Rs12,422 crore.

 The plant is expected to produce 200,000 tonnes of green methanol to fuel ships, Mint reported citing a top official at the company.

 The agreement for the greenfield plant has been inked with Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha Ltd (IPICOL).

Anil Taparia, chief operating officer (COO) at ACME Green Hydrogen and Ammonia Business Unit, reportedly informed about the agreement in an interview.

Odisha Emerging As Green Investment Hub

Odisha is steadily transforming into a major industrial destination as it moves beyond its traditional reliance on natural resources and embraces technology-driven growth sectors, through and recent investor’s meet, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said on 21st of January.

The state has attracted investment proposals worth Rs 1.67 lakh crore through recent investors’ meets, with the potential to generate employment for nearly 1.46 lakh people.

The chief minister said the strong investor response at roadshows held in Hyderabad and Kolkata reflects growing confidence in Odisha’s evolving industrial strategy. He noted that the state is positioning itself as an emerging industrial powerhouse by prioritising future-ready industries alongside its established strengths.
