77th Republic Day celebrated across Odisha with parades and official programmes

The 77th Republic Day was celebrated across Odisha on Sunday with flag unfurling ceremonies, parades and official programmes held at courts, district headquarters, political offices and major institutions, reflecting widespread public participation in the national occasion.

Orissa High Court, Cuttack

Republic Day was observed at the Orissa High Court, where Chief Justice Harish Tandon unfurled the national flag. The national anthem was rendered by a police band, and the programme was attended by all judges of the High Court, along with judicial officers and staff.

Puri

In Puri, district-level Republic Day celebrations were held at the Talabania Sports Complex with Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari attending as the chief guest. He unfurled the national flag and received the salute at the combined parade. Addressing the gathering, the Minister recalled Odisha’s contribution to India’s freedom struggle and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the overall development of the state.

Koraput

Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo attended the district-level Republic Day celebrations in Koraput as the chief guest. He unfurled the national flag, participated in the combined parade and addressed the gathering. Praising Koraput’s coffee, millets and Kotpad sarees, he asserted that Kotia belongs to Odisha and will remain part of the state, adding that several development projects would be undertaken in the region.

Khordha

District-level Republic Day celebrations in Khordha were held at the BJB High School playground. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida unfurled the national flag and received the salute. A total of 42 contingents took part in the parade, and a number of tableaux were also showcased.

Dhenkanal

In Dhenkanal, Republic Day was celebrated at the district’s main stadium. Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan attended as the chief guest, unfurled the national flag and received the salute. He paid tribute to freedom fighters and martyrs, including Shaheed Baji Rout, Sarangadhar Das, Musa Malik and Baishnab Patnaik.

Bhadrak

District-level Republic Day celebrations in Bhadrak were held at the Bhadrak Autonomous College campus. Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra attended as the chief guest and unfurled the national flag.

Political Parties and Institutions

The BJP celebrated Republic Day at its state office, where state president Manmohan Samal unfurled the national flag in the presence of party leaders, legislators and workers.

The BJD marked the occasion at Sankha Bhawan, where party president Naveen Patnaik unfurled the national flag in the presence of senior leaders, youth leaders and party workers.

East Coast Railway

The East Coast Railway celebrated the 77th Republic Day at its headquarters in Bhubaneswar. General Manager Parmeshwar Funkwal unfurled the national flag and highlighted the organisation’s contribution to nation-building and its key achievements.
