Worth mentioning, a day back, an elderly man and his young grandson lost their lives after they were bitten by a venomous snake while they were asleep at their home in Sabarapalli village, under Sheragada block of Ganjam district.

Although the two were rescued in critical condition and immediately referred to Berhampur-based MKCH Medical College and Hospital, doctors failed to save them.

The rising cases of snakebites once again highlight the increasing frequency of wild animals straying into human settlements, especially in regions close to forested zones.
