Bhubaneswar will remain under a stringent security blanket during Holi, as the Commissionerate Police roll out elaborate arrangements to maintain law and order and ensure peaceful celebrations across the capital. With a clear warning against drunk driving, police have stated that vehicles will be seized and offenders sent to custody if found violating the law.
Under the leadership of the DCP, four Additional DCPs and eight SP-rank officers will supervise the extensive security operations. As many as 17 mobile patrol teams will comb the city, keeping constant vigil in sensitive and crowded areas. Drunk-and-drive checks will be conducted at 85 locations to deter violations and prevent accidents.

Special Deployment at Sensitive Spots
Fire Services and ODRAF teams will be stationed at 10 bathing ghats and riverbanks to prevent any untoward incidents. Four striking teams will also remain on standby for swift response in case of emergencies. Police have urged citizens to refrain from using chemical colours and cautioned that all Holi-related events will be closely monitored to prevent disorder.
"To ensure that people celebrate Holi safely, the Commissionerate Police has made comprehensive arrangements across Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. The same protocols that were followed last year will be implemented again this year to maintain peace and order. Strict checking will be carried out throughout the festivities.17 mobile patrol teams will be deployed at various locations to assist the public, and 30 platoons of police personnel will be stationed at various places with officers. Special drives will be conducted to check cases of drink-driving," he said.
"Holi is a festival that should be celebrated in a spirit of peace and harmony. We urge everyone not to indulge in any act that could land them in a police station,” concluded Twin City Commissioner Suresh Dev Datta Singh.
With multi-layered security, strict enforcement and a clear appeal for responsible celebration, authorities are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that Holi in the Twin Cities remains safe, orderly and joyous for all.
